Adrien Brody is facing backlash after winning his second Best Actor Oscar for The Brutalist.
While celebrating his victory, the 51-year-old actor threw his gum at his girlfriend, Georgina Chapman, as he walked onstage. Chapman caught it, but social media erupted in disgust.
One person on X wrote, “Disgusting. Ban him.” Another added, “That’s so foul.” Critics slammed his “disrespectful” behavior, drawing comparisons to Will Smith’s infamous slap.
During his speech, Brody thanked Chapman and her children, calling the win a “chance to begin again.” However, many felt he should have apologized instead, overshadowing his Oscar triumph and leaving fans divided.
