The grieving parents of 13-year-old Esra Haynes, who tragically died after engaging in chroming, are speaking out to warn others about its dangers. Esra inhaled toxic chemicals at a sleepover in Melbourne, Australia, in March 2023, leading to her death.
Her parents, Andrea and Paul, recalled it seemed like an ordinary night, with Esra spending time with friends. However, they later received a call to pick her up, finding her unresponsive. Esra was placed on life support for over a week before doctors confirmed irreversible brain damage.
The family decided to say their final goodbyes. They are now committed to raising awareness to prevent similar tragedies. “We don’t want any other family to endure this heartbreak,” Paul said.
