This follows a GOP budget reconciliation battle over President Trump’s agenda. Congress has delayed funding discussions for fiscal year 2025, relying on short-term resolutions to prevent shutdowns. A new resolution, supported by Trump, aims to extend funding through the end of fiscal 2025.
However, Democrats and Republicans disagree on key conditions, especially regarding Trump’s proposed spending authority. Conservative GOP members, such as Rep. Ralph Norman, cautiously support the resolution, hoping Trump’s focus on reducing government waste will sway their position.
