Donald Trump recently sparked controversy by declassifying thousands of documents about the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Despite the promise of revealing the truth, many feel the documents did not provide new answers.
The Trump administration complied with the 1992 Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act by releasing 80,000 documents on March 18. Trump had promised transparency, claiming that there would be no redactions. However, while some files were released, not all were made public.
Most documents supported the Warren Commission’s findings, which concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. Despite the declassification, conspiracy theories continue, with some hoping for proof of UFO involvement or CIA orchestration. The release sparked online debates but ultimately did little to resolve the mystery surrounding JFK’s death.
