Elon Musk’s firstborn, Nevada Alexander Musk, tragically passed away at 10 weeks old in 2002. Born to Musk and his first wife, Justine Wilson, Nevada was their first step into parenthood.
Their joy was short-lived when Nevada suddenly stopped breathing while napping. Despite attempts to revive him, he suffered severe brain damage from lack of oxygen. After three days on life support, Musk and Wilson made the heartbreaking decision to remove him from the ventilator.
The cause of death was Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), and while Musk rarely speaks about the loss, Justine shared it deeply affected them both. The tragedy led them to conceive again via IVF, eventually having twins and triplets.
