Federal officers blocked Democratic members of Congress from entering the Department of Education on Friday. The group was denied entry, with a man questioning, “What business do you have here?” This led to a reply of “We are members of Congress!”
Congressman Maxwell Frost shared a video on X, saying, “We’re here to fight for education, but they’ve locked the doors.” He described being prevented from entering despite the sign reading “All Access Entrance,” while a man outside refused to allow them in.
Congresswoman Maxine Waters identified the man as “Jim Hairfield” while Frost filmed, showing her braving the cold with her arms crossed.
