Understanding and Managing Those Painful Red Bumps

As winter fades and summer approaches, many people look forward to the warm weather, but for some, it also means the return of eczema flare-ups. Among the various types of eczema, dyshidrotic eczema is particularly troublesome, causing itchy, painful blisters on the hands and feet.

Dyshidrotic eczema, also known as pompholyx, appears as small, fluid-filled blisters on the palms, sides of fingers, and soles of feet. These blisters can develop suddenly and are often accompanied by intense itching. Though the exact cause is unclear, it is believed to be linked to an overactive immune system and may be triggered by allergens, irritants, or stress.

This condition primarily affects adults aged 20 to 40, with women more frequently affected. People with a history of atopic dermatitis, hay fever, or other allergic conditions are more susceptible.
